Built to USGA specifications, Silver Lakes is easy to walk with short distances between greens and tees. However, the course also provides a variety of tees on each hole making it a tough challenge for low handicap golfers. The course rating from the gold tees is 73.6, with a slope rating of 133.

With a total yardage of 7029, Silver Lakes course winds its way through well-treed terrain alongside the beautiful Holland River. Neighboring wetlands are a big part of the course, coming into play on twelve holes, and great care has been taken to preserve natural habitats. It is not unusual to see many species of birds and other wildlife — including deer and the majestic blue heron — peppered throughout the course.
